Founded in 1989 and based out of Raleigh, NC, National Power, LLC is a premier provider of critical infrastructure and back-up power solutions. We are currently accepting applications to fill a project management opening in our Harrisburg, PA market with potential for work in other states as necessary.

Summary
Under the general direction of and reporting to the Market Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated DC power and critical infrastructure projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished on schedule and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews project specifications to determine schedule, procurement sources, and staffing needs.
  • Creates and executes project work plan and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Prepares submittals for customer approval.
  • Works with finance, legal, and sales staff on payment terms, contracts, and project requirements.
  • Directs and coordinates all project activities to ensure that project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepares project reports for customers, management, and others and modifies schedules and plans as needed.
  • Creates and executes project work plan and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Communicates with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and sales staff regarding deliverable expectations and technical considerations.
  • Proactively resolves problems with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinates project activities with the activities of government agencies.
  • Attends meetings at construction sites and design offices as required.
  • Assist on-site walks and provides technical support in costing the project.
  • Once the job is awarded, track materials, contractor schedules, progress of the job, and standards compliance.
  • Communicates with sales staff, subcontractors, and customers on a weekly basis, or as required, to turn in digital photos and progress reports to our customers on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Monitors site safety and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
  • Minimizes exposure and risk on projects.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Complete all close-out documents in a timely manner to comply with customer-generated and managed performance scorecard.
  • Travel is required.


Education/Experience/Skills                                                           

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering, construction management, or other technical subject and four years’ experience in project management or technical customer service in the electrical equipment industry; or eight or more years related experience and/or training in project management or technical customer service in the Cable/Telecom AC/DC electrical equipment industry to include DC Plants, batteries, inverter systems, HVAC, fire suppression, UPS systems as well as general construction.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with -48VDC and +24VDC systems and installation procedures.
  • Experience or knowledge with Cable/Telecom industry GR 1275 installation standards.
  • Possible seasoned Level-4 installer looking to advance career. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio (Visio is used for the following - scale drawings of floor plans, equipment layout, cable rack layout, site layout, AC & DC online drawings and riser drawings).  
  • CAD drawing experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
  • Experience in, or the ability and willingness to learn, the emergency power industry.
  • Access to high speed internet.

Work Conditions

  • Visits customer offices and facilities and construction sites on a regular basis and must comply with all safety regulations and expectations.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel long distances and extended durations in a vehicle.
  • Frequent sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Entering text or data into a computer by means of a keyboard.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds during in-person meetings, group or conference calls, and over the telephone.
  • Clarity of vision for using computers and reading small print.
