Summary Under the general direction of and reporting to the Sr. Manager, Fleet, Field Ops and Learning, the Fleet/Field Operations Specialist administers the full lifecycle of the Company's vehicle fleet, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while supporting field technicians with proper tools, uniforms, and PPE requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core duties include but are not limited to: Fleet Administration & Compliance
Maintain fleet documentation including registrations, insurance records, and DOT compliance documentation
Maintain GEOTAB GPS system, ensuring proper programming and monitoring of safety metrics
Assist with driving citations/violations
Maintain driver qualification files and coordinate CDL training enrollment as needed
Create and investigate incident reports, implementing appropriate mitigation measures
Fleet Operations & Vehicle Management
Perform and coordinate vehicle upfitting, including fuel tank & reel setup, lighting, GPS/Dashcam, storage installation
Manage vehicle assignments, transfers, and logistics across locations
Coordinate with fleet management vendor (BBL) for maintenance and repairs
Ensure proper company branding and DOT numbering on all vehicles
Equipment & Resource Management
Maintain and track inventory of tools, uniforms, and PPE for field technicians
Process tool orders and coordinate recalibration services as needed
Manage fuel pin assignments and tracking
Coordinate company-branded clothing orders for special events
Ensure proper documentation of all equipment assignments and returns
Employee Support & Onboarding
Process new hire documentation in GPS and insurance systems
Coordinate vehicle, uniform, and tool distribution for new employees
Conduct or coordinate DOT driver testing
Manage equipment retrieval and vehicle returns during employee offboarding
Safety & Cost Management
Review camera footage and generate safety-related driving reports
Assist in the handling of insurance claims processing and documentation
Monitor fleet-related expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
Track and report on fleet safety metrics and compliance status
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred or equivalent experience
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience with vehicle modifications
Understanding of or ability to understand DOT regulations and compliance requirements
Experience with fleet management systems and GPS tracking
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform vehicle modifications and equipment installation,
Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 75 pounds
Clarity of vision
Sitting/driving for long periods may be required
Frequently required to use hand and finger dexterity (typing and use of tools)
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed

Travel and Overnight stays may be required, Company would cover costs of hotels and provide meal allowance per company guidelines.
Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. Overtime is also a factor and is paid at 1.5 X base. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee’s productivity and overall performance.
